In Switzerland, outdated software poses a major cybersecurity risk. A 2024 audit revealed over 2.5 million potential vulnerabilities across the country’s internet-connected systems, with about 1 million considered critical or high-risk. Many of these problems come from using old, unsupported software that no longer receives security updates. Even government websites were affected. Regular software updates and modernization are essential to keep Switzerland’s digital landscape secure and resilient.
